    Guide to thousands of 2- and 4-year schools in the U.S. and Canada. Covers listings and detailed descriptions, degree programs offered, scholarships, and occupational education programs.

  • Gale Directory LibraryMEL Database

    Provides access to a number of very useful directories including Ward's Business Directory of Private and Public Companies in Canada and Mexico; Scholarships, Fellowships & Loans, Organizations; Encyclopedia of Associations: International Organizations, National Organizations of the U.S. Regional, State and Local Organizations; Brands and Their Companies; and Statistics & Rankings Business Rankings Annual.

  • LearningExpress LibraryMEL Database

    LearningExpress Library is an interactive collection of self-paced online courses and practice tests including the GED; college and graduate school entrance tests such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT GMAT; and professonal and or licensing tests from the CDL (Commercial Driver's License) to the ASVAB, to nursing and real estate. Although Michigan achievement tests, such as the MEAP are not included, reviews geared toward other states' tests at similar grade levels may be useful preparation tools. This resource also has computer skills courses and tutorials, sections on verbal and mathematical skills building, and hundreds of online PDF titles. You will need to create an account to fully utilize this resource.

  • Lynda.comPDL Database

    Training Topics Include: 3D, Animation, Audio, Business, Design, Developer, Home Computing, Photography, Web, leadership, Excel, Creative Inspirations, Time Management, Communication, Marketing (please note that this service is for resident and paying card holders and not reciprocal borrowers). Login on a Desktop: Use your library card number and the same pin you use for checkout to create your own Lynda account. Once you are logged in, click the LIBRARY button on the black navigation bar at the top left. To login on a mobile device, download the Lynda.com app from your app store. Once the app has downloaded, click on "Already a member?". On the next page click the Organization tab at the top left. Next, scroll down to the Web Portal section. Enter “portagelibrary.info” in the box below and hit the login button. Your device will open a web browser and will pull up the library card sign in page for PDL. Use your library card number and the same pin you use for checkout to create your own Lynda account. Once you hit the login button, you will then be returned to the app, and will be logged in.

    Provides an intensive review of every type of question on the GMAT, shares nine full-length practice tests including three on the accompanying CD, and includes guidelines for writing essays and personal statements.

    The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) tests basic mathematical skills and the ability to solve problems. Material covers arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and data analysis.
