Changes to Overdrive Service
Overdrive, the service that Portage District Library uses to circulate ebooks and downloadable audio books, is now only available to Portage Residents and purchased Non-Resident cards. Reciprocal borrowers must to use their home libraries and library card to download from OverDrive.
The Willard Public Library in Battle Creek and the Kalamazoo Public Library are already a part of same consortium that we belong to, the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services, but must now use their home library cards, and log in as a patron of their home library.
The Southwest Michigan Digital Library includes the following libraries, some of which used to be covered by Portage Library’s reciprocal borrowing privileges: Augusta-Ross Township, Berrien Springs, Bridgeman, Cass District, Comstock, Dowagiac, Eau Claire, Hartford, Niles, Otsego, Parchment, Paw Paw, Ransom District (Plainwell), Richland, South Haven, St Joseph and Three Rivers.
