Book Review:  The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen

This book has been chosen as the featured picture book for the Michigan Reads! One State, One Children’s Book program. Mr. Fish is very sad. One by one, his sea creature friends try to cheer him up, but it takes something truly special to turn his frown upside down. With great rhyme and repetition and a ‘chorus’ that your child will repeat with you, Michigan author Deborah Diesen has created a fantastic picture book!

“I’m a pout-pout fish
With a pout-pout face,
So I spread the dreary-wearies
All over the place.
Blub… Bluuuub… Bluuuuub.”
