6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 20, 2010 10:30 am to 11:30 am Portage Celery Flats Historical Park Hosted by the Friends of the Portage District Library

The Portage Celery Flats Historical Area will open at 10:30 a.m.; hot chocolate will be available for those who arrive early. On site parking is very limited; no on-street parking is allowed on Garden Lane or in the adjacent neighborhood. You can catch a shuttle bus from First Reformed Church (located at 7905 S. Westnedge – across the street from Portage City Hall) or walk the 3 blocks of paved trail starting at the north end of the library. Additional parking is available at Portage City Hall, First Reformed Church of Portage, and Portage District Library.

Events are scheduled by age group. Please be aware of the following schedule, as events start promptly and are over very quickly:

Egg Hunt Events by Age Group*
11:00 a.m. 2-5 yrs old
11:15 a.m. 6-8 yrs old
11:30 a.m. 9-12 yrs old

Photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. as he roams through the park. Remember to bring your own camera; there will not be photographers at this event.

Some of the eggs in each Egg Hunt Event contain a special token that can be redeemed for a free prize. Please be sure to redeem your tokens before leaving the park.

As long as there are not sub-zero temperatures or thunderstorms, this event will go on outside as planned. If you are concerned about cancellation or a change in venue due to weather conditions, please visit the Portage District Library event calendar for updates on the morning of the event at www.portagelibrary.info.

To assure that all children have an enjoyable time, some emergency eggs are always held back for late arrivals. See any volunteer at the event if your child misses his/her scheduled time.
